Has anyone managed to get new world wiring on the steam deck I’ve just got my steam deck yesterday really loving it and wondering whether new world is playable and if there is anything I need to do to get it working

not sure if it’s written in proton db but the game as of now is not playable IMHO, you have to be careful and not log-off in cities otherwise the game won’t get past character selection.

I’ve been playing New World on my Deck for the last 10+ months and have been very pleased with the experience, I think the action combat translates well to the control and the UI scales well and is still fairly intuitive with the available methods to map out custom controls. I’ve been able to play the game on the go using my iPhones 5G as a hotspot with a lot of success as well. Overall it’s been much better than I ever anticipated.

But did you do some events with some more players and player action? I think it will crash immediately I didn’t played the events but I played On GeForce Now and it dips down to 30-40fps I heard there is some sort of mod that takes a lot of textures off it runs smoothly with this

I put in 80 hours into new world on the steamdeck while docked. Expect to play new world on low settings, also expect your steamdeck to crash while fast traveling to settlements. Fast travel to other shrines to avoid the crash.

Other than the very annoying fact that it crashes, it’s a decent experience. It has definitely encourage me to invest money into my pc again so I can stick to emulation on this thing.
