Is just the version we have always wanted.

Here’s my takeaways from the digital foundry review:

  • better battery life do to efficiencies in design
  • lighter feel due to efficiencies in design
  • easier to take off backplate due to efficiencies in design
  • new fan design equals less heat and noise compared to lcd
  • Wi-Fi 6 meaning better download speed and streaming -screen is larger meaning more immersive
  • oh yeah, the headline feature of OLED.

I mean if we have less clicky buttons too, this is the handheld my wife will never yell at me for playing in bed 😂

I work for a company that designs, manufactured, assembled, and sold products that have yearly generational improvements. We only do the generational improvement on models that perform well in the market.

Like we’ll get a new form factor to market, see that the enthusiast are picking it up, they bring it to the public and then it sell broadly.

If they keep making money on the Deck, they’ll keep bringing refinements to the design to market.

It’s fun to see something I do in a different market in a market I absolutely enjoy.

It sucks I’ll miss out on the OLED screen but maybe I can hope for a deck2 eventually.

It does mean that when the Deck 2 comes out it will have the same or better screen.

I too have a OG deck, I don’t use it daily to justify switching. I’ll stick to the OG and wait a few year for significant upgrade
