Hi Everyone,

I used Stackary to import my Steam Deck and they no longer send products valued over $1K over to Australia. I’m currently getting the Deck repaired with Valve. It’s a 512GB model which I only bought 4 months ago.

So I have 2 questions,

So my first question is the 512GB I have now, valued less since the OLED got announced, will this now be below the 1K limit?

And two, I was thinking of upgrading to the 1TB(Limited edition🙏) and giving my GF the 512GB model which I know is about $1080 AUD but now I’m not sure how to reimport this into Australia

Any help would be appreciated!

I recommend buying the cheapest 64gb model as that is the cheapest and should fit under your import limit. Then buy a 2tb or 1tb 2230 type ssd separately and replace it yourself with the steamdecks 64gb ssd. Or if you dont want to do ssd swap then buy a 1tb microsd card and add it to the base model.

I’ve already got a 512gb and it’s currently with Valve getting an upgrade. I’m specifically looking into the transparent model by valve

The main reason I ask is I know there’s consistently lots of people doing the same thing. I reason you state the value is 1 for insurance and 2 because of customs
