Hey guys!
I was looking to upgrade my GTX 1060 Strix to a newer card. I usually play Assetto Corsa, some FPS games, and Single-player RPG games like Witcher 3, Kingdoms of Amalur, etc.
I’m using a 1080p 180hz Gsync Monitor BTW.
I’m trying to check the PC Bottleneck Calculators, however, the recommended cards aren’t consistent. Sometimes it recommends GTX 1080, sometimes RTX 3050, sometimes GTX 4060, etc.
Can you guys recommend a GPU?
6700 xt is a popular card that is over 2x of 1060. https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/radeon-rx-6700-xt.c3695
If you check the relative performance list you can find other options if you want something even faster. 6700 xt is meh at ray tracing, look to nvidia instead if you want good rt and prepare to buy higher tier card too.
But I won’t be able to utilize my GSYNC monitor for that…
That depends on what kind of G-Sync monitor we are talking about.
The newer “G-Sync validated” monitors are using the same base Agesa standard as freesync does, which is definitely compatible with AMD cards. The older “proper” G-Sync monitors with the physical chip inside however is probanly not gonna work.
YMMV, but certainly look it up. Google is your friend.
But what’s your budget? In general, 4090 is fine.
