Yes it sucks having just bought one and then a new one gets announced.

You’re right to be in a panic. Your Deck is now obsolete. It is no longer the best handheld pc you can buy right now.

You’ll be using it in public, or taking pictures of it to post on this subreddit and a cute girl/guy will come up to you and say,

“Oh wow, that must be the Steam Deck OLED, right? I was thinking about getting one, wanna grab dinner with me and we can talk… -Wait, something isn’t right, is… is that the LCD model?”

and then you will sheepishly stutter out something like “w-well, yeah it’s actually t-the original steam deck…” and then you’ll try to justify it with things like “waiting for the SD2”, “marginal improvements”, or “the original suits my needs” and they will cringe and say “actually, I’m busy, nevermind” and run away.
