Hi! I need to buy a new laptop for college. I’m doing software engineering so I need something kinda catered to that. I’d also like to tinker with game development tools like unreal and editing tools like Da Vinci Resolve (plus also straight up gaming).

The main issue I have with my current laptop is that it isn’t very good at running virtual machines, I need to get an Ubuntu VM running smoothly for programming, is this processor/RAM amount enough?

Plus, do you think the other characteristics (battery life screen) are decent enough?

I’ll leave the full characteristics in a comment below. Thank you very much!

Seems about an average price for systems with those specs! The OS you can easily install yourself by making an installer drive on a USB stick on the system you have at the moment.
If you want a SD car reader, those are cheap on Aliexpress and if you want an optical drive, you can always pull one out of an older laptop and shove that into a cheap external enclosure.

    45% sRGB?!

It will be the most horrible display quality you will experience. What a joke.

Stay away from it and get a 2023 TUF instead.
