My S23+ is coming tomorrow and im upgrading from an S9+. I’ve had it since 2018 and im a little sad to be switching. Espesically since as of now the only “issue” is the battery doesn’t last all day like it used to. But I know I can move literally everything over to the new phone so thats a plus.
One thing I saw on here recently, someone said your phone may seem fine but you don’t realize how bad its gotten until you get a new one.
We will see.
I never feel bad about an unthinking unfeeling machine. Phone served its purpose faithfully and so shall the next to replace it.
Nope, but I keep my old phones always, and sometimes turn them on to take a look back at the past.
I turn mine into cash asap. I’m currently trying to get my hands on my wife’s 11pro 512 to flip it but she’s being difficult about it.
I would but Samsung trade in system is just too good to pass up
I was still using my S9+ up until 2 weeks ago when the SIM reader started acting up. Now I just use it as a mini tablet haha.
The 23 ultra is great, but I’m still a little annoyed that my old phone didn’t last to the 24 series like I wanted.
Oh no, I was fucking sad when I was packing my old S10e for the cashback. It served me well.
Same. I almost wish I didn’t trade in my s10
I felt sad sending Note 10+… That Rainbow like Glow color was unique.
The rainbow color is absolutely superb! I’m still using mine but the battery is weak and doesn’t hold much charge, the screen has a black spot, and the usb port is unusable at this point (I can only wireless charge it). As much as I love my note 10+, I will most likely get the s24 ultra whenever it’s out :'(
I really miss the aura glow note 10+, my s22u sky blue colour is just so boring in comparison.
I’ve had the S22 ultra for a year and still miss my S6 edge ALOT.
I’m currently using my S9 and got a new battery put in it a few months ago. The S23 has a lower resolution, fewer PPI, removed the headphone jack, removed the SD card, removed easy on gesture, removed the LED notification light, and I think they removed edge lighting (I may have just missed it as they may have moved where it’s at on the new ones) The only new thing the S23 brings is a new camera (i’m not a photographer like 90% of users and those who are have a real camera anyways) and a faster processor - which I’ve never had issues with the speed of my device. It’s unfortunate, but I have yet to find a phone from any manufacturer who can compete with my S9. Every “upgrade” would be a loss of features and nothing to gain. I could see replacing features for other features, but it’s only a net loss. It’s pathetic.
I still use my s8 for some things mainly my dji drone, but going from that to the s21 was a huge leap in terms of battery and performance. The only real reason I swapped was the type c port lost it’s fit, it was the first phone I bought with my own money sure it was broken when I bought it. the day I got it working I was ecstatic, I paid $75 for it cus some idiot flashed the wrong software and couldn’t go back, he thought I was gonna use it for parts.
I’m still using a Galaxy S8+ and since I just lost my job I wont be getting a new one for a while. 🙁
The only time I felt sad was when switching from my LG G8S in 2022.
Because that phone felt a bit like end of a era, a high end (when it came out) phone, with OLED, 3.5mm jack, MicroSD slot, physical fingerprint sensor (under display ones give me a ton of issues), cheap (500 euro was the launch price here in 2019, I got it for under 400 euro), and stuff in box like a charger, but even some decent (but unusable for me) earbuds, case and even a LG branded cleaning cloth.
And yes Sony is kinda the LG now… but also not, especially not price and trying to be different wise.
In the end I kept that LG and still use it for emulation and playing music at home, while every phone before it was sold without any feelings for it.
In my opinion Samsungg phones have been getting steadily worse since the S10. Dual audio is unusable now and it’s the feature I used to find most useful.
you will be blown away I think.
I went from an s21fe to a s23+ and just the battery difference blew me away. I love the s23+, but liked the s21fe until I got the s23+ if that makes sense.
I had to run at the slower refresh rate on the s21 to even get close to the battery life I get out of the s23+. I run the S23+ with the 85% charge and it curb stomps any phone I’ve ever had. Even my one plus 6T. I for sure will be keeping the s23+ until it dies. The entire time I had the s21fe I knew I would be upgrading sooner rather than later. I was trying to hold out until the S24 came out but then samsung gave me 300 dollars trade in for the s21fe while having the s23+ on sale. I ended up getting the S23+ for 530 bucks shipped after trading in the s21.
Did I need a new phone? Nope
Am I glad I got the S23+? Yes
I only really get sad about the departure of money. I use my phones until they die. I just a couple weeks ago went from a S20 to S23 Ultra. The upgrade is super nice, but only did do because battery was poor and charging port died, could only charge wireless on a phone that lasted half a day. The previous upgrade was a bad battery to the S20.
I hate spending the money but since I always run a phone to death for a few years, upgrades are much much nicer phones. But, expensive.
Phones are tools not your friend to get sentimentaly attached. You should be eager to jump to a new and much much more powerful device.
Buyers remorse. I never feel sad, or sentimental about material goods, but I feel regret for “upgrading” when it’s not needed. I think it’s a mentality I’ve kept from my poor days. I try to use my things until they break, or can’t do what I need it to do.
Had an S9 and was very nice, but the S22 Ultra was a big upgrade
