13th Gen i7-3700k vs 14th Gen i5-4600k for future proofing?

I keep going back and forth between an 13th gen i7 or 14th gen i5. I mostly play MMOs and 3D Farming Sims/Adventure Sims, with occasional photo editing. Ideally I would like the best future-proofing without overshooting my gaming needs too much?

Happy balance of performance to cost was the 13700k for myself. Teamed up with a an Arc A770.
