The s23 ultra is a flagship, it costs $1200 USD and youtubers rave about it, that being said after watching the video, “day in the life video with an s23 Ultra” by UrAvgConsumer I was appalled by how bad the photos and video looked.

Jumping onto reddit i saw others had a lot of negative things to say about the camera as well.

I am now concerned about if purchasing the s23 Ultra is a good investment.

Why do you care if the camera is good? Buy a proper camera if you want to take good photos. S23U goes toe to toe with the iPhone 15pro/pro max and, in my opinion, gets beaten by the pixel 8 pro. So its one of the best you can get if you dont mind waiting for january the s24u will have a even better camera.

I have a Canon DSLR and i am a photographer, however, if I am going to spend so much on a phone I would like the camera to be workable as well because we always have our smartphones on us.

It’s a fantastic camera phone but maybe here isn’t the place to get an impartial opinion. Everyone here will tell that s23 ultra is the best that ever was which si not necessarily true. It’s all about personal taste. As great as this phone camera is, if you weren’t impressed by its camera results, maybe it simply isn’t for you. Cheers.

If you ask here everyone will tell you it’s the best…Same in Pixel’s subreddit as well as iPhone’s…So here’s the truth…There’s no best at taking photos…Each and every phone has strengths and weaknesses…Now if we talk video Iphone is king no matter what everyone says. My honest opinion is that Samsung has made the fatal mistake of going with numbers just for marketing’s sake much like its Chinese counterparts…Iphone went the only way forward…Sensor size…You can cram 4000000000000000mpxs in a tiny sensor and it will still be shit but take it to 1inch and that’s where the magic happens. Pixel this time went for all sensors having same mpxs more or less and it fucking worked like a charm…Samsung has stuck with counteracting Apple and Xiaomi or OnePlus and loses ground quickly by staying in the wrong lane…It’s simple really…Go all sensors the same mpls except for the main which has to go 1inch or die altogether

Yes except for blurry pics whenever there’s motion detected. Shutter lag is still a thing

MKBHD does blind camera testing with tens of thousands of viewers, and the S2? Ultra is always in the top 5 of camera quality. Only consistently beaten by Pixels.

Your expectations for the results from a phone camera may be unrealistic.

    Then why are you here?

You think a bunch of people on a message board can talk you into liking the pictures of another phone better then one taken by the S23U?

Your own visual opinion is your own, regardless of phone.

I think it’s the most overrated camera and it gets destroyed by companies like Xiaomi who have one inch Sony sensors.
