Looking to possibly switch from a 2020 2nd gen iPhone SE. I really like the feel and similar case size of the smaller models but not seeing massive specs upgrade from 22 to 23, unsure if it’s worth the extra money, and wondering which might have the best overall deals available around Black Friday this year?

Definitely the S23 series over the S22, hands down. You can get some pretty good deals right now on the S23, even though it is before BF.

Otherwise, unless you MUST get a phone inthe coming weeks, you might want to consider waiting for the S24 series in January and take advantage of pre-order deals.

Not OP, but am interested in the S24 series. Haven’t had a Samsung phone since my S5 Mini which I bought in 2017, so I’m curious; what kind of pre-order deals does Samsung have nowadays? I was considering the Oneplus Open, which had a pre-order deal here that came with Oneplus Buds Pro 2R’s. Is it anything like that? I have a Oneplus phone and pair of earbuds now, and it’d be nice switching both my phone and earbuds at once to get a complete Galaxy environment since I already have the Gaalxy Watch 4

Edit: Should probably mention I’m in Europe, specifically The Netherlands.

We won’t know for the 24 until they announce it probably in January. Last year they were giving a free memory upgrade, a gift card and pretty nice trade-ins. In addition to any other little discounts (like using their web app to place your pre-order, etc). There may have been some discounts on the Buds Pros as well, I’m not sure.

If you are in Europe you’re probably going to be looking at a 24 with an Exynos processor, except for the Ultra which will have the Snapdragon Gen3. If this materializes and you’re not interested in the 24U, if it were me I’d buy a 23 or 23+ instead to get the Snapdragon Gen 2 instead.

Yo, thanks for the detailed response. I am exclusively interested in the Ultra models, since getting a S23/+ would be a downgrade from my current phone in some areas, and that’ll most likely be the same for the S24/+. Hell, even the Ultra models are still a downgrade in charging speeds.

I have read about the rumors claiming the S24 Ultra has a Snapdragon worldwide, and I do hope this is true, since it’s (probably) a deal breaker for me if it doesn’t tbh
