Context: I’m new to the series, never played before but everyone is screaming masterpiece so I have to try it - the game is LONG and so I feel like playing on the deck is my best chance to squeeze in sessions wherever I am no matter how long I have… however I am worried as I’ve heard there’s issues with performance (I’m not a performance stickler especially when it comes to turn based, but I would like to keep 30 fps if possible, however as long as it’s playable I guess it’s fine)

Or I can get it on my ps5 where I’ll have less performance issues but less accessibility to play — Would love feedback from first timers and people who love the game about steam deck experience with BG3 and what they’d recommend as I’ve been back and forth for a while

i’ve put a few hundred hours into bg3 on my deck so far. there’s performance issues in act 3 particularly, but nothing that’s not reported across the board on most platforms. i can get a stable enough 25-30 frames depending on the environment, and i could probably squeeze it for a little more by increasing my wattage and turning down the graphical quality. bg3, being mostly turn based, is absolutely playable like this. it doesn’t look bad, the game is still gorgeous. i’m about to start my third playthrough and i recommend it a lot ^^
