You can’t update while roaming. Better, you can’t even ping the update server to check if an update is needed while roaming.
Seriously? That means anything out of maybe half of the state for me, as I’m with a local carrier. They have nationwide coverage by leveraging other networks, but the big scary word “roaming” that means next to nothing financially these days ABSOLUTELY fucks my access to the whole update server.
We have folding phones, and Snapdragon processors that shred almost whatever task you give them, but we’re really living a decade in the past on this? This isn’t something others have to deal with, it’s seriously just some artificial software limitation on OneUI.
On that note… does anyone have some goofy way to fool the phone into thinking I’m on a local network?
I’m not sure who “we” is, but it might just be you and the people on your local carrier, based on the agreements and contracts they have with the providers who actually give you your connectivity.
