I bought the S23+(8+512) for $822 during a sale, the main reason why I bought the S23+ was the battery life, storage and the shape of the phone, one thing I dislike is not having WQHD+. But after buying I saw an S23 Ultra(8+256) go for $868 and now I wonder if I should’ve just gone that way instead with just having 256gb of storage but better phone overall(camera, WQHD+, screen shape and size, S Pen,). The main thing I was worried with the Ultra is the size and shape even though I’ve not held one myself, but it’s definitely better in terms of viewing content due to the rectangle screen and taller screen size too. I was thinking long term when I bought the plus version coming from S8+/S9+ which are 5 and 4yrs old and I needes a replacement for my S9+ because of green lines. I can’t help but wonder if I made the right choice because I feel like missing out on the Ultra features with some tradeoffs, should I have gone for the Ultra?

I managed to get the s23ultra 1TB Version for the price of the 128GB. Samsung had a sale on their Website and I also had a 10% discount Code from the members app

The s23u is really nice, downsides? Probably the weight and not being able to use a screen protector with a case. The only way to know if you made the right choice is by comparing the features and differences between the 2 and seeing whether you would actually use those features. For me I bought the ultra for the bigger screen, storage, and cpu. I never use my pen. Screen resolution between the s23+ and s23u isnt something you’ll notice unless you look closely due to the ppi being high for a small screen. If you end up deciding that the ultra is worth, I would wait a a few months for the s24’s to be announced and check reviews on it.

I’m using a screen protector with a case rn - but yeah I agree with most else. Square design makes it a bit iffy to hold, even with big hands, really wish they continued the S22 Ultras design.

What is the difference in CPU between the S23U and the S23+? I thought they both used the SD G2.

Camera difference is pretty big, in my case the difference is $50 more or less with a few tradeoffs which is why I’m thinking I should’ve gone for the S23U even with just 256gb of storage.

no, you did well. i ve had all 3…tiny hands and ended with the base 256…even if i had bigger hands, would pick s23+ over the ultra every time

I can’t really comment on this because I haven’t used them. I am currently using S22 and it’s awesome. I will check the price of S23 on CryptMI to if it’s cost effective.

Supposedly the S24+ (which releases in 2 months) will have the same display resolution as the Ultras (1440p). So if you can wait 2 more months, that’s one less compromise you’ll have to make.

It is awfully big - I’m 6’3, so I have somewhat decently big hands, and struggle to reach the other side of the screen when one handed. I really wish they had continued the S21U design with the rounded corners…

As for battery life, I think people are just unlucky. Maybe they degrade faster and I just don’t know it yet, but my S23 Ultra last about 16-18 hours of nonstop use. Today, it’s lasted from 8am - 3:00am, and I’m still sitting at 21% battery left.

Performance wise they are practically the same, just the Ultra has a better camera and slightly better display I think.

    No wrong choice basically.

That’s actually insane for me to hear that a phone can last that long coming from someone who only has more or less 6hrs battery life, thanks for this insight.
