Hello, i am looking to purchase a used macbook and I was wondering what are some common scams I should look out for? Is there some way to check if the model is correct/as advertised other than a serial number check?
Make sure it’s not MDM locked; ideally, the seller has a copy of the original receipt
Depending on which country you are in, there may be lost/stolen databases where you can check the serial number against. I’ve got the strict rule of not buying if the seller is reluctant to share the serial number before the sale is agreed.
What site do you recommend to check the serial number?

It’s not worth the risk for the cost savings
Make sure the seller has been selling products for more that 8 years and make sure the overall rating is above a 90%
