Hello, I’ve encountered an issue where my micro SD card suddenly stopped working, and I’m unsure if it’s a problem with the card itself or if it’s related to my Steam Deck. Here’s what happened: I was away from home for five days. Before leaving, I played games on my Steam Deck without any issues. I turned off (shut down) the Steam Deck before leaving. However, when I returned and turned on the Steam Deck, the SD card was no longer working. I tested the SD card on my PC, Nintendo Switch, and phone, but none of these devices could detect it. The Switch even indicated that it doesn’t support the card or that it wasn’t working. I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced something similar, or perhaps my SD card just happened to fail while I was away.

If you enter desktop mode and start the KDE Partition Manager (found in the applications menu under System), does the card show up to the left as /dev/mmcblk0, or is only the internal /dev/nvme0n1 listed? You can eject and reinsert the card and press Refresh Devices to be sure.

If it’s not there then the card very likely failed. If it is there it may be that you only need to do a filesystem check.
