Alrighty guys hear my out, so basically I am looking for a new laptop, cuz my old one is running so slow. But I don’t wanna simply throw my old laptop away, so I took a look into the steamdeck. And came up with the idea of using steamdeck as my working pc (I study computer science, so bunch of programming stuff) via remote control like team viewer and such from my old laptop. And btw I prefer working with Windows and gaming with the steamdeck os.

Any suggestions on which remote desktop application is best for gaming and best for working.

    Currently I’m using Sunshine on the steam deck and moonlight on the PC. To turn the screen of the deck off I’m using a dummy plug. Works well.

      Well mostly I will have internet access wherever I go, it won’t necessary need to be on local network right?

        Sunshine and moonlight are really good streaming solutions, but afaik they are based on local network. If you want to stream over the internet, just like other comments mentioned here, use RealVNC or anydesk. The quality will be dependent on your internet speed.

      And may I ask what the difference between the moonlight/sunshine method and steam link
