So… my s20fe has destroyed more than 20 sd-cards over the past 3 years. It’s last ‘kill’ happened on New years Eve 2023 (almost a year ago) Since then, the current card [64gb] (somehow) Maneged to survive, and I just want to know if there has been an Update arround that time that stopped my phone from melting all my sd cards?
(My FE heats up to 70°celsius/160° Fahrenheit, so my Personal theory is that the phone simply melted them. ((Any fellow s20fe users having the same Experience?))also the cards only stopped working, when the phone was restarted [I still get a heart attack every time there’s an Update “OH god not again”] their survival also Depends on their size for example 32gb=3months 64= 1 month, 128=2 weeks, 256=5 days Can anyone explain this wierd phenomenon to me?)
After the first failure/overheating you should be thinking “This isn’t normal or safe”.
I also had the s20fe (exynos) and it was a little oven. Promised myself to never buy an Exynos phone ever again
I don’t know about this particular phone, but my S8 had the same SD card during all the time I used it (3 years)
The hell you’re using the phone for? Like how is it physically possible for it to reach 70⁰C?? Most phones usually shut themselves down at like 60⁰C to avoid damage… And this is the first time I’ve heard an S20FE kills an sd card, so I’m not sure which is at fault…
Dude what are you using to measure heating of up to 70C. Not even my old Exynos S20 would reach those temps.
Thermal camera
If it’s 70C on surface temps that’s going to be hotter inside and that’s not normal. The Exynos S20 and S20Fe should have the same chipsets and mine didn’t heat up as much as that. Most I’ve reached is like 50C while gaming.
