Hello, I have a LG Double door fridge eith inverter compressor. Its been 10 years now and the fridge isnt cooling properly. Technicians too couldn’t figure out what happened. I liked the Samsung family hub Smart fridge with the screen and the icemaker but I was curious if there are any problems with it. I am concerned about the ice maker more than the screen, does it fail? I feel lile its a complicated system and if failed the whole space would be a waste also the repair costs wouldn’t be cheap. What should i do? Shpuld i go with the non icemaker ‘normal’ one? Will be used in India.

Stay away from the top door mounted ice makers as they tend to fail regardless of brand. I’m now trying the bottom drawer auto ice maker to see if they fare any better. The good thing with Samsung is they will honor their warranty. I had my ice maker fail just outside of the 2 year warranty, but they still refunded me my full price. Bought another Samsung with a different design due to the excellent customer service.

To be honest, i too found the samsung warranty to be honoured by them. I got a TV and it had an issue with the panel I lodged a complaint and they took the TV back and gave a refund. But the folks on reddit are very Anto Samsung when it comes to electronics many advice against them. What shluld i do?

I had the hub before. The ice machine didn’t “fail”, but it got clogged a few times when we didn’t use it. But it was an easy fix.
