I’m trying to find out if one of my apps is not compatible with 10.1, Even though I make sure to force quit all these app, something still running. My Ultra 2 is very HOT all the time, and smaller chargers can’t go above 1%, I’m forced to use my Apple fast charger.

OneNote.

Night Sky.

MyFitnessPal.

MobyFace.

Insta360.

Hydra.

HearWatch.

I’ve upgraded iphone to 17.1, apple watch to 10.1 and have some of above apps.

My watch went from 60% to low battery message within 1 hour. I’ll recharge and recheck if issue still persists.

But I didn’t find any temperature (hotness) issue - so was quite surprised that battery drained so fast. Also, it didn’t give me any warnings etc. I just wanted to check the time and then realized that it’s drained.

I had a few of these apps but deleted them all. Did not help. Now trying 10.2 beta (just finished charging to 100%).

I only have stock apps on my AWU1 and my iPhone 15 PM was already on iOS 17.1 when I updated to watchOS 10.1 and I experienced everything folks are describing with battery drop (about 20+%/hr), taking 2+ hours to charge to 100% (regardless of if its dead state or 50%), and rebooting the watch (both button and power off and a hard restart) led to 5-12 minute reboots (honestly thought it was going to be bricked).

I tried: -My normal watch faces (Modular and Modular Ultra) which do not use a weather or HR complication

-Numerals Duo (attempt to have a watch face that does nothing really)

-Toggling optimized charging off and seeing, then reverting to having it back on (as has always been the setting, no difference)

-An Apple USB-C power brick and Apple’s cable that comes with the AWU1 were the charging mechanism (and have been since I got this)

-It had 4-5 reboots during this process (at least 2 power offs and 2 hard powers so may only be four, but the last one took 12 minutes before it was back up and letting me enter my PIN, I haven’t rebooted since that one)

The battery drained remain the same.

Before sleeping last night, I set it on the charger to get to 100% before bed in hopes it’d last me through since I like sleep tracking and alarm and it died the night of the update (100% when I went to bed at 9PM, dead by 3AM when I woke up).

Last night, it was at 100% when I put it on before bed (8:30PM-ish), and I woke up to it at 70% (which seems like a faster drain than normal, but not as horrendous as what I experienced the day of and the day immediately after the update).

I charged it during getting ready this morning and it went to 99% in about 20-30 minutes (about how long it takes me to get ready). I took it off at 99% at 6:37AM and it’s 10:19AM right now at 94% so maybe it’s ok now?

I have WorkOutDoors and I have noticed since installing it a few weeks ago that my drain is worse than usual.
