I have seen so many people already telling kids, relatives, and even friends that they’ll be getting a new Steam Deck once the OLED comes out.

Please, everyone, try to remember this upgrade is a fairly limited release experiment for Valve.

I’m only making this post because of the sheer amount of people I see in the comments of OLED posts talking about what they’re going to do once they get an OLED.

I can already see the angry posts from people who sold their steam decks already, and will be burned by the limited availability. Don’t make plans for your current Steam Deck until you can confirm whether or not you’ll even be able to get an OLED version.

Trust me, I’m just as excited as everyone else. I plan on being at my computer the second the sales go live doing my best to get one. But your cousins and little brothers are going to be disappointed when many of you inevitably have to break the news that they won’t be getting a Deck for Christmas.

Tldr; Don’t get rid of your Deck just yet, limited OLED availability is going to burn some of us. Please hype responsibly!
