I’m currently rocking a S10+ that I’ve had since launch. I have to say, between the S9+ and S10+, Samsung hands down makes the most stable smartphone of any I’ve owned.

I’ve only had to get 2 battery replacements and 1 screen replacement with my device, and its still running strong.

That being said, a major part of my hesitancy to upgrade is Samsung having now dropped Micro SD support for the past few models and is not likely to ever go back. But I also know security support for my device ended in April.

I have a 512 GB card that I keep all my media on including documents, photos, videos, and music. So I just keep the internal storage for apps. Done it likes this for years.

What would be a solid upgrade? I’m willing to accept I’ll have to migrate all my media onboard for a new device. I refuse to cloud sync everything to my phone and be 100% reliant on Internet just to access my content.

    Upgraded from A50 which is basically a lesser S10. S23 Plus. Insanely good upgrade.

    Personally I would look for a deal through Samsung, or if you can wait til the new S24 series comes out and buy something there….idk your finances obviously. Or find a used S23+?

    I have gone back and forth from Samsung to iPhones and like both. I will be seeing how the S24 lineup looks and possibly jump back into Samsung next year. But will most likely keep the iPhone for a backup

    I’d stick with samsung, I believe ultras have 1Tb options, but mind that better phone with bigger sensors and 4k video and such, will take even more space. I cloud sync everything, so I’m fine with my 128gb S22. I use the very good integration with onedrive. I understand your point on being internet dependant but for my experience files don’t take too much space so they’re always with a local copy, and as for photos I keep the ones from the past year or two, the older ones are always available in low quality, so it’s good enough for a quick check

    Buy the a54 …it works like a champ and has a micro sd card unlike the s23 series…u can watch reviews of it on yt…I’ve had it for about 2 months and it works really well…No issues so far!..the camera is also really good.

    S23 FE is cheap and pretty much the same as the S23. But today’s phones don’t have a sdcard slot.

    I suggest S23,23+ or A54 for a replacementdepend on what activity you use on phone.

    Normal usage > watch video/news,web browsing , google map , etc gaming on high-low settingA54 can support all of that within the budget.

    S23 Beat A54 when it come to gaming with very high setting,
    less hicups during multiple apps use (7+ more)

    I’m coming from the S7 and will be shopping for the S23+ or the S24+ this holiday season. It is in pristine shape and still works well for a phone of its vintage. Always in a case and never needed any repair work.

    Probably will get the 512GB storage option on my new phone (especially if the 24+ pre-order has the memory upgrade deal) since I won’t have the SD card anymore. It’s been seven years since I upgraded last, so I want to take advantage of the latest and greatest tech.
