My phone works perfectly fine, but my family wanted to make the switch from Verizon to T Mobile. My Dad said we’ll be able to upgrade our phones as well. Do you guys think it’s worth the wait for the S24 Ultra?

I have both, and honestly they’re almost identical in performance. Pictures and videos do look a little better on the S23U, to me. But look and feel, I prefer the S21U.
If I were you, I’d wait for the S24U. The Snapdragon 8gen3 is supposed to have some nice features.
You would probably only be picking up minor performance, and camera increases, along with a longer support period, but a much higher optimized battery. I would wait for the S24 to launch and pick up a S23U
