A 1000nits Glossy HDR OLED is a luxury, and if someone wants to buy a deck, I would definitely direct them towards it.
If someone already has a deck, it is an option to upgrade to depending if they want or not. The LCD deck didn’t become worse because the OLED came out 😅👀
To be fair, the biggest factors are the battery and the storage (for people that don’t have the skill/confidence to open their Deck to replace the SSD.) The OLED screen is just a huge perk for people that like it, but it’s very much minor compared to extra time-on and extra storage.
So it’s part luxury, but also part use-case - if you are playing away from a power supply a lot, and tend to have larger open world games installed a lot, the OLED could seem almost mandatory.
Plus the oled deck has the screws fastening into metal instead of plastic. So it will be way more forgiving should a less experienced person try to upgrade it. It’s a really nice device.
Wait there are teams?! 👀
