I bought 8 gb of ram and after i put it in the ram slot, the screen is black and won’t turn on.
After that I took out the new ram and swapped the slot with the old ram and the same thing happened.
After that, I removed the old ram and inserted the new ram in the first slot. Everything works normally this time.
So the problem is obviously with the ram slot. My laptop model is HP Laptop 15-db1xxx. From what I saw on the site, this laptop mode supports the operation of the second slot and can be upgraded to 64GB.
Is there a possibility that the second slot is broken for some reason and is there a way to fix it? I haven’t had any contact with that other slot so far and I haven’t touched it at all.
