My watch cracked during a shower. After a year of being a victim in almost every possible scenario, not even a scratch from concrete, it decided that my self-assurance turned cocky. I took it for granted.
I want to know from people who also persisted with cracked watches, how long will last before it decides to act up too?
I do plan on getting another watch, but really can’t drop $200+ right now.
I also bought a case to prevent any other issue, even if it only helps a little.
So, can I make this watch last a year?
Get a bulky protective case for the watch
I dropped my S4 at the gym and did something similar. I cleaned up the glass and got most of it out and then popped one of these on. I ended up buying a S9 in the end but gave the S4 to a relative and still going strong but clearly not waterproof.
Does the screen still work? You can get a glass replacement for about $60. I did that with my series 4 and it looks factory.
AppleCare+ is great for situations like this.
Put a screen protector over it that’s what my watch has
You shower with it?
I have no clue (though from my electronics meddling past I’d assume it would be salvageable if it’s currently working with some viscous non-conducting superglue like epoxy in the cracks. [viscous so it doesn’t drip too far in])
BUT: what’s the cost for repair? (Just curious as much as anything.)
If you can, try buying a used one. I bought a used SE earlier this year for $100 after the screen on my series 1 (that I also bought used) popped off and it’s in great condition
Mine has a crack like that, dropped in the bathroom. I bought a cover off Amazon and have been using it for 2 years and it’s still going strong.
even a slim case is better than nothing to protect against potential cracks…though not sure how or why all of a sudden in the shower it would crack though
only real problem you have atp is LIQUID. you said you bought a case i’m sure it covers that part sufficiently. if it was me i would 100% rock it like that. just no showering no swimming and NO RAIN. don’t listen to other people who must have an abundance of money to drop at the expense of an involuntary accident.
