I’d pay a pretty penny for a good e-Ink monitor. I don’t want it curved though. I’d spend $500 or something.

I read a LOT and it would make my life so, so much more enjoyable.

E-ink, absolutely, I’d love a monitor where I can read and do work at night without my eyes burning out of my skull from overexposure to the LEDs (I’ve turned down brightness, used FLUX to reduce color temp, etc.; it only works so well).

Curved though? Yeah, sounds about as useless as 3D TVs and previous curved monitors to me lol.

      • People with severe eyestrain or eye conditions that benefit from having reflective instead of transmissive display
      • A display that needs to be readable outdoors in bright sun

Too many dorks in here asking “why” instead of “why not”!

This is the coolest straight-to-landfill e-waste I’ve seen in a long time.

I want a colored e-ink display that I can read my comic books on. I want it to be vibrant and bright.

Well the point of e-ink is to simulate paper, and just be easier on the eyes. it’s supposed to be looked at with reflected light. So, for example lamp in your room, would reflect off the device like it’s reflecting off paper, making reading easier on the eyes.

So an e-ink comic would look like a piece of comic book paper when you’re holding your next generation kindle or whatever e-reader. Currently for comic books we have to use a ipad or some other tablet which emanates the light.

I bought used inkbook color version 1 with Kaliedio Plus on eBay for $250 and it is worth every penny. I exclusively read comics and manga on it.

Let’s make something worse, like a computer monitor, and charge 4x the amount for it!

At least it has a little curve to it, I hear that makes it feel better.

What the fuck is a curve good for besides making the box bigger and not sitting flat against a wall.

Curved monitors are as annoying as 3D glasses.

I wish companies would stop trying to force bad design.
