I have a $4k Samsung fridge and the ice maker goes out after 2 years. The warranty on parts is only 1 year? I should have done more research because this fridge is not worth $4k.

Most fridges are crap these days.

Unless you’re getting one of the quasi-commercial models that are meant to be built in there’s hardly anything decent out there.

I had a Fridgidaire go through 4 icemakers in 8 years. Fortunately, replacements were only $50 and it took all of 5 minutes to change. At 8 years, the compressor went out.

Samsung appliances are shite. Would not recommend them at all. Anyone I know that has had them becomes plagued with issues

My folks got a Samsung washer and within 5 years the rollers broke. It wobbles, the water pump is loud and when it spins it sounds like a diesel engine from 1955.

5 years is actually pretty reasonable for it to be trouble-free, IMHO. Think of cell phones or laptops or cars, even, they break faster than that.
