When I went in store and played with some of the 15s on display it was jarring how drastically different and bad it was compared to what I’m used to with ProMotion. And these are new, freshly released phones, it really doesn’t make sense. If I was an android user I would be very discouraged to switch to an iPhone and be limited to only the pro models. I agree that it shouldn’t be a thing anymore, ESPECIALLY after introducing it to your user base
Well tbh… almost nothing. But it just gives comfort to our eyes. When you tried 120Hz, there’s no way switching back to 60Hz would be unnoticeable. A normal eyes would notice the difference between 60Hz and 120Hz especially when scrolling.
I have a pro with 120hz screen and still set the option to limit frame rate to 60 fps.
It gives better battery life and it’s plenty fast. It’s just not that important of a feature, but seems to tick just the right checkboxes for some folks.
Looking back, the iPhone 12 Pro sucks ass for its price. I don’t know why I bought a pro model, fully knowing that it has a 60hz display.
And then proceeded to buy a Pro-motion M1 iPad Pro smh. Now I have to pay $1000+ if I don’t want an iPhone with a 60hz display.
A better screen. 60Hz refresh rate on an $800 phone in 2023 is a war crime.

This is exactly the point. Apple wants you to feel that difference
I mean I’m not really sure what you’re doing on your phone that requires more than 60 fps

Scrolling Reddit. The text bleed is very annoying.
Comparing it to other phones apparently.
120hz is one of those things that’s nice when you get it but the second you go back to 60hz…
It’s just like not a big deal.

Why? I’ve never once thought to myself, I wish my screen refreshed faster
