Hey guys,

I’ve seen others dealing with this problem and haven’t figured out what works yet but hopefully will soon. I’m posting this for a more up to date answer to the issue if someone else deals with it.

The problem:

Remnant 2 is installing a patch. It downloads the patch for an hour or so, and then goes through finalising. Once it comes to installing at the end, however, the download speed goes to 0, and so it simply stops installing. I pause and unpause, nothing. I try installing something else instead, and nothing. The deck simply won’t try and download anything any more.

I’ve tried restarting but it simply re-downloads the last Gig, finalises, and returns to 0 download speed upon installation.

Looking at others on the sub, solutions revolve around clearing download cache via desktop mode, verifying integrity of game files though game properties, or redownloading the game.

Currently the only progress I’ve had came around when i tried verifying game files. It didn’t verify at all so i stopped that and then tried installing something else again. Something in me stopping and restarting the download a couple of times actually got the game to install 40% of the patch.

Since then, I’ve tried verifying again, and now it is re-downloading the patch from about 50%, suggesting the problem at it’s source is to do with being unable to read part of the download files.

Has any one else had this issue? Let me know any solutions if there are any, Im trying to do what i can without having to redownload the game, because that would really not be worth it for every update (especially for one that started as poorly optimised as remnant 2…)

Very frustrating. Deleted Remnant 2 for now which feels like a failure of the system or something. Since then it hasn’t happened again, oh well
