Talk me out of it please…lol. I think to myself better to buy an OLED and sell my old one off before it’s worthless. On one hand, I usually don’t like buying first batch of new gear because I fear faulty units. On the other I fear these will these sell out and take forever to get one… It took me like 6 months to get the first deck. I only got about a year out of mine. I barely got to even play much of it. It’s the screen always was SOOO damn ugly and everything looks so smudged on it and the battery was always so bad…but, this fixes all of that that.

I bought a 64GB with the 10% discount. The amount I saved is more than the price of a 256GB SSD so technically nothing has changed for me. I’m happy with the choice because it’s a stop gap until something better comes along.

To buy the OLED model - for me personally, it’s not worth it because the processor is essentially the same. I would rather get something different like an Ally or wait.

I sold my old deck and getting the new one, no one knows but if it’s 2 years until a new one comes out I think it’s worth getting the new one for me since it’s my primary PC/console. But it comes down to how much money you have laying around, the old one will be perfectly fine, the oled is more a nice to have

Dude, if you have the money go for it. Try to order as soon as it releases (I mean at the minute). This has saved me months of waiting times on the first release (I received mine in the second batch/week).

Just don’t sell your current Steam Deck as long as you don’t have the OLED. The price of LCD units will drop, but not nearly as much as “being worthless”.

The only reason I don’t order a Steam Deck OLED is because I play on docked on my OLED TV 95% of the time anyway. :)
