    It’s came out with one ui 4.1. 60 hz aod was causing stutters on LTPO screens like s21 FE because it couldn’t change refresh rate properly beetwen 60 and 120hz. It’s not because hardware but software problem. Instead of solving the actual problem, they decided to set aod refresh rate to 120hz to prevent stuttering. That’s why your always on display stucks at 120hz.

      S21fe have fixed refresh rate screen that is either 60 hz or 120 hz,

      S23fe have adaptive (60-120) but not LTPO

      S23 vanilla and plus also doesn’t have LTPO but still adaptive refresh rate (24-120), (24-60).
