This is a long shot question, but is there ANY way to replace the firmware / software of the M7 monitor to remove the smart features? The quality of monitor is great but there are so many bugs in the software, especially around USB-C and sensing connection, that it is really frustrating to use. I find myself regularly having to unplug the power from the monitor and reconnect it to get it to recognize my M1 MacBook Pro or my M1 MacBook Air.

You’re sure it the monitor and not the MacBook? Apple is notoriously famous for not cooperating with other tech.
