Take this advice from a middle aged man. Nobody really cares about what somebody else is using. That applies to cars, houses and most certainly phones. It’s nice to get new things and it’s nice to feel special for a moment because of owning the new thing, but that quickly fades and you start to look for the new dopamine hit as the new becomes old. Think about if a friend buys a new fancy car. Sure, there’s that initial five minute conversation where they show off its new features and it looks lovely and shiny. Then it just becomes your car, not your new car and nobody cares anymore. People pay thousands over their budget for that initial five minutes of gratification. Stick to what you can afford and what makes you happy… you’ll save a fortune.
