Hello I am looking to buy a TV for my parents. I went to check out a Samsung TV under the name; Samsung QE55S90C (2023) 55” Ultra HD Smart TV. I saw it at a store, I thought the picture quality was good and the size was also good, however, I was wondering if this TV is is good for people that just like watching movies (Netflix/HBO), news, any other movie that they might find on their TV package. The TV itself also won’t be used for gaming, as they are older and just want to watch good TV at the end of their tiring day. The price isn’t the worst, but it’s not the best either, however I don’t mind spending the 1299 British pounds that it is being sold at.
So my questions are: Are there any drawbacks or benefits to the TV mentioned above that I should known about? Are there any other TVs in the same quality/price range that I should also be looking at or are better in quality/price compared to the TV above? Or is the TV above a decent choice for a long term TV purchase? Any other information or opinions are also welcome! Thank you
Honestly Tizen OS is crap. I have a 2020 75" The Frame TV and have it hooked up to a FireTV Cube.
With that being said, I think you’d be better off getting a cheaper TCL or Hisense TV with Roku or Android TV built in. Those user interfaces are much more user friendly, especially for older folks.
The TV is very good imo. I assume you’re looking at the £1299 deal from Richer Sounds if you’re in the UK? If so you also get a free soundbar, £100 cashback and a voucher for 6 months Disney plus voucher (but must be used before May 2024).
It’s an extremely good TV, probably one of the best on the market picture colour and quality wise bit supposedly LGs are better at dealing with low quality feeds but honestly the TV would be overkill for most.
As others have said the Tizen os is a bit clunky to use app wise but it’s not completely unusable.
