I didn’t, saw it was sold out immediately and got sad, then 3 hours later saw it wasn’t so sold my original SD and the 1TB SSD in it to my sister and immediately ordered one. Hella irresponsible but couldn’t pass up, plus my sister’s been baited into a new hobby.

I upgraded my main PC this year and my SD is perfectly good, but damn, the urge is strong.

I’m a massive OLED believer and knew I needed the beautiful blacks @ 90hz immediately. LE let’s gooooo!

It’s easy when

(1) you don’t have the cash

(2) you don’t live in the US/Canada

(3) you’re already gaming on a 2tb deck

OLED + all the other upgrades sure is tempting, but unless i overcome number (1), i’ll keep on saving for the SD2. Steely resolve tho!!

I’ve been tweaking all day resisting the temptation. I even blocked the steam website on all of my devices with DNS.

i stopped after smashing the purchase button for 20 min. i was only a little sad. then a story popped up about how steam had issues but said they were resolved.

lo and behold, i check my cart and the limited edition is still there, temptress of the decks. i was able to get it in less than a min.

I didn’t, got a 512. I’ve wanted a steamdeck for so long, I was in the queue for the original for several months, but decided not to get one once my number came up. Now I’m glad I didn’t get one, as the OLED version with a bigger battery and fan is exactly what I want from this device!

I have it sitting in my cart. I keep thinking it will say sold out any minute but it’s still there hours later… I barely use my current deck. Mainly because the screen but also because the performance on newer games is bad. So idk if this will be enough. But the screen is the ugliest screen I’ve ever owned. To me it’s even worse than the OG switch.

I asked myself if I could wait 2 more years to see my games on OLED. For me, the answer was no. I sold my Deck on ebay today. Hopefully the wife dossnt realize I upgraded!
