I recently lost my iPhone14 and took the necessary steps by reporting it to the nearest police station. After a few hours, I realized that the thief had accessed my phone and it was located 200 kilometers away. I activated Lost Mode and enabled Find My iPhone already. However, the next day, I was surprised to find that Find My iPhone was turned off, and I couldn’t understand how the thief managed to bypass my password.
Adding some info to that, my phone had both an eSIM and a physical SIM. I had initially registered my Apple ID using the physical SIM as my primary. In an attempt to secure my phone, I deactivated the physical SIM and then reactivated it. However, I had not yet deactivated the eSIM. Strangely, in my Apple ID settings, the eSIM number was displayed instead of the registered physical SIM number.
After a few days, I added other devices to my Apple ID, but to my surprise, the lost phone was not showing up in the list of connected devices. I’m quite confused right now. I’ve already changed my Apple ID password, but I’m concerned about how the thief managed to bypass the screen password and what might be happening with my lost iPhone. Is there any possibities?
They probably watched you tap your PIN in at some point
