Currently I have an rtx 4090 gaming pc facing away from my bed (so I can’t play in bed unless I move my desk everytime).

My plan is to sell this pc. Use the steam deck oled when laying in bed and then get an rtx 4060 gaming pc that can render most games easily at 1080p 90fps. It will also allow me to stream gamepass games etc.

I think the steam deck oled looks great with 90hz and hdr but it kinda sucks most games can’t run at that.

I can sell my rtx 4090 gaming pc for £2400 and then get the steam deck oled and an rtx 4060 setup for £1300. I also have an oled 4k tv but after working at my desk all day I don’t really want to game at it and would rather game in bed.

I also have an WiFi 6e router so streaming will have no latency issues.

I don’t play games all the time which is another reason I’m selling this rtx 4090 gaming pc. Whenever I don’t use it I feel like its value is slowly whittling away and I should just get a cheaper pc and stream from it instead.

I actually just recommend you get the steamdeck oled alone if you are not gaming much anyway. Dont bother with another gaming device when you cant even spend your day playing with 1. Instead add 1.5tb microsd card to the steamdeck and replace its internal ssd with 2tb so you can have tons of games right on the deck, no need for streaming anything with the 3.5tb combined ondeck capacity.

Speaking of 4090 streaming, one interesting thing i found is that you can play cybperpunk 2077 with pathtracing on with native steamdeck resolution at its 90hz rate via streaming. Looks and feels amazing. 90fps fully pathtraced gaming in the palm of your hand.
