Apple’s advertising on Twitter was basically an extortion payment. During one of Elon’s manic episodes, he threatened to push for anti-trust scrutiny into the App store. TC threw a few million bucks at him and he shut up and went away and it was money well spent. That’s how an actual business person thinks. The ROI on those investment dollars wasn’t the advertising, it was mollifying a gadfly.
Now that Twitter is massively imploding. Apple has the air cover quietly cancel the extortion payment and Elon doesn’t have the bandwidth at this point to threaten Apple.
