Well….I think I am screwed. Did every combination of button presses Contacted valve and they sent out the same directions.
And after 3 days of emails back and forth I am still with a deck that doesn’t work. The screen is blank, the fans are running on 100% and there is feedback from the touchpads. Nothing is working…
Steam basically told me that there is nothing they can do since I am out of my warranty period.
I’m just boggles that an expensive piece of tech just died on me because of a software update. Literally, when the update showed up I pressed apply. Then kept playing and at the end of my session I pressed “restart”.
At the moment I opened up the deck. Disconnected the battery. With hopes that if I wait day or two and connect it back it will return back to life.
I’d give this a shot, if your BIOS update failing is what bricked the system.

It looks like you’ll have to buy some equipment, but you should be able to uncorrupt your BIOS and get things running again.
I think I will just take it to a local store that can fix decks and ask if they have that equipment and can do the process. This is starting to get outside of my field of knowledge.
Thanks again for the link!
I ran out of options and am SOL.
Ordered it today and hope it will arrive sometime in the near future as i live in Israel and probably it will take 2 months to arrive
Best of luck! It’s worth a shot as a last-ditch effort, I think.
I had the same thing. I ended up opening it up and disconnecting the battery. Connected the power cable then booted it up. After 5 mins or so it loaded up. Did a shutdown and connected the battery then powered on again.
Did that. Didn’t work
