Considering buying a Steam Deck to play PC games like Escape The Backrooms and Phasmophobia. I will also be setting up ALVR on there (because why not) and was wondering if anyone who uses a deck for VR can tell me their own experiences.

And yes, I know there’s videos on YT but I would like to also hear from the community. Thanks for reading, have a great day / night! :D

you’re not going to have a good vr experience here. you’re best bet if you don’t want to spend alot is the quest 2. i played vr back on a 1050ti which is lower than the bare minimum required for vr, and it was ROUGH. the deck at 800p is weaker than the regular 1050 at 1080p. it won’t work well

Don’t. Steam Deck hardware isn’t optimized for VR - the Quest 2 standalone can run VR software better than Steam Deck. If you want PCVR, you’re best off with a full-fat Windows desktop machine.

As someone who has had VR since the Vive came out in 2016, don’t.

The Deck is nowhere near powerful enough for PC VR.
