I love you, I truly do. You created a device that was just objectively better and had to have cost more money to make but didnt raise the price a single penny, in fact you even lowered the price. I don’t think anyone understands how unheard of that is in the tech and gaming industry and it’s obviously because they know we’re gonna spend twice as much on games for the deck, but valve still kept the prices the same. I cannot wait to see what you have in store for this devices next iteration but I can say, please feel free to take your time with it and understand that as long as you continue this respect and care for your fan base we will always support and contribute to your company, thank you from gamers everywhere(except Australia, hopefully you can work on that lol) Thank you Valve! Cant wait for my oled steam deck to come in!

Yup, they’ve always been good to their customers. Treat people well first, the money will come.

Nintendo charged an extra $50 for just oled update. Valve is giving much more than just the display upgrade, for less money. Plus all the consistent software updates they push out and all the community created software for the deck. It’s great.

Nintendo did a lot more with the OLED than just change the screen too. They’re pretty similar types of upgrades, lots of little improvements for more premium build quality, doubling the memory, improving chip efficiency for a tiny performance bump, etc.

The battery and efficiency improvements came before the oled screen. But the oled switch was a monster update that improved just about every component of the build quality. It was a much bigger upgrade than the first one that doubled the switched battery life.

And if you’re a techie, the fact the deck is a portable PC running Linux and not as restrictive as other systems out of the box is fantastic. Also changing OSs being so easy makes the steam deck almost indispensable
