Hi. Having trouble with using the speakers on the Deck.

I was playing a game docked and rather than use the Deck speakers I tried plugging a pair of headphones into my Xbox controller. Couldn’t hear anything, so I went to the audio menu and tried changing it to external device. No sound, so I thought forget it I’ll just use speakers, but changing it back I didn’t get any volume either.

Restarting the Deck didn’t do anything until I did a full shutdown. Then the speakers will work but every time I dock the Deck it automatically changed to external device [default]. That device does not exist I only have the controller connected. And each time it changes it completely kills any audio output until I do a full reset again.

I searched around and went into desktop mode and set everything I could do detail but nothing helps.

I play docked all the time with this exact setup with no devices connected except the controller and the monitor that doesn’t have any speakers or anything else connected. Nothing has changed except for one time clicking on the external audio option seems to have permanantly affected how the speakers work.

I even tried a factory reset and it’s the same result. Sound is fine until I dock the system and lose all audio again.

Any help would be appreciated thanks.

Thank you Tuna! My goodness Steam Support was definitely giving me a run around!!

I told Kai that… Maybe they will tell folks that instead of what they were asking me to do and all.

    Cheers n Peace ✌🏻
