Hey so, some time ago I watched a video where a guy said he thought valve (probably) made the S.D. because they were losing on sales because nintendo was taking their indie market with the switch, so what do u guys think?
Valve wasn’t losing space to Nintendo, different demographics.
I always figured the Steamdeck was created in part to finally make good on the promise of SteamBox and big picture mode. Which is basically intended to lower the barrier of entry for gamers who are more familiar with the seamless experience of console gaming. A lot easier when you have targeted specs. I’m sure the success of the switch helped influence them to go with a handheld and dock design, but as stated, ultimately a different demographic
Though I gotta say, the responses here surprise me. I honestly would have assumed that most Steamdeck owners also own a switch. Don’t most PC gamers also console game?
