I felt the same for a while. I felt like I wasn’t actually good at games and that I was too discouraged to tackle huge games. It made me question if I even liked playing videogames anymore.
I got my original Steam Deck in May of last year and it really changed things. I quickly put 90 hours into Cyberpunk 2077, which made me fall in love with open world games again. After that I played Spider-man, Elden Ring, Borderlands 3, Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order, and so much more.
I played all my old favorites like The Binding of Isaac, Spelunky, Nuclear Throne, and Hotline Miami.
I bought games specifically for the Deck and it’s ability to provide me with bitsized gaming sessions during lunch breaks like Vampire Survivors, Seraph’s Last Stand, and Muse Dash.
I emulated games like Dante’s Inferno, Silent Hill, Pokémon FireRed, and Midnight Club 3 DUB Editon Remix.
I sold it in December of last year because I was laid off at work and needed the money more than the entertainment, but I’ve missed it ever since. The whole time I had my Steam Deck and even now, I’ve had a very decent gaming PC with a 3070 ti and i7 12700k but I still enjoyed the Deck more.
I ordered the new OLED model, and it should be here this week. I’m beyond excited to have my hands on a Steam Deck again. It has so much to offer and playing AAA games and retro console games while chilling in bed is unbeatable.
