I intentionally opted for the glossy display this time and I received my OLED deck earlier today. It is simply stunning! The deep inky blacks, omg! OLED displays are glossy throughout the tech industry for a reason. I have owned an etched LCD Deck too and my buddy’s with a glossy screen was sporting a greater clarity. The benefits of the etched model are quite exaggerated as someone, coming from someone owns both. Reflections won’t bother you in bright indoor settings like airports. They will bother you in sunlight, but I never play outdoors and even etched Deck won’t be ideal to play under the sun.

I would recommend against an etched display.

I agree, one person’s view is not the absolute truth. Glass is definitely more transparent than frosted glass and is an industry standard for OLED panels. It bothers me to get an OLED Deck and not benefit fully from its rich colors and deep blacks so I chose glossy, but I understand those who wish to reduce a bit of glare and are making a tradeoff for slightly worse clarity. Also, I had the etched LCD Deck but definitely preferred a friend’s glossy display. It’s just so crisp and clear.
