1 year agoASUS used to be good. Best Price:Power ratio for their laptops and the ROG software used to be pretty useful for easy performance adjustments.
Nowadays their build quality is lacking, especially on thermals. They barely last 2-3 years before something fails or slows down from thermal issues.
MyASUS and Armory Crate are much more intrusive and bloated now.
Because of this, I wasn’t expecting much from the Ally and wouldn’t even dream of giving up my Steam Deck for one. This is despite several issues Ive had with SteamOS being unresponsive or crashing in some use cases. Usually the issue goes away with a hard reboot or a new patch drops and I never have the issue again.
It’s one of those types of games where is doesn’t leave a huge imprint on your mind.
Story is usual SciFi cliches, graphics are ok for the time and the gameplay is good but not ground breaking.
It is however a very tightly made game. No fluff. Story is coherent and paced well without much issue. Gameplay mechanics and guns while not ground breaking, are well thought out and have enough variety to be fun.
It’s an overall great game that you’ll have fun with but not necessarily remember until you’re reminded about it. But it’ll always be fun to fire it up and play again.
