OLED glossy vs. etched… I think I will get the glossy, because I have seen multiple videos where they shine lights and wave their hand or whatever as a demonstration. But like my phone or iPad or whatever, if there is even diffused light, I’ll change my angle so I don’t see it. Just because your hand or light is less visible, it is still really annoying, and I would adjust my angle to not see it. And in a position where I am not getting reflections or light as much, I would prefer true OLED, not diffused OLED.
These demos are not real life at all. I always adjust to a point where I have the least light and reflections. If there is so much light or so many reflections that it is unavoidable, I just won’t play, on either system. Having a diffused but still obvious light or reflection isn’t going to make me grunt and play through it. I’ll just put it away until I am at a spot where playing is a challenge to see the screen.
I appreciate their tenacity to show comparisons, but under studio lights is not real life. If I have reflections either causing a diffused blob of light, or a bright glare of light, I’ll just move 10 degrees until it looks good.
