keep in mind using the laptop with the lid closed blocks off the exhaust and this might cause higher temps if you are doing anything cpu intensive

I think its a great choice. You get all the benifits of ubuntu plus a better customized desktop environment.

they are not comparable lol a reasonbly specced fw can cost you over $1200 while you can get a deck for less than half that.
