What are your power limits? If you’re running power unlimited, then you’re likely crashing the CPU from temps/power/current.
Intel stock spec is 253w, so if you’re pushing beyond that with unlimited power and hitting over 350w then sure, it will likely crash.
Intel there is no reason this cannot be extended/added to 12th and 13th gen.
$400 for that deal is pretty incredible.
What is this post? First of all do you think only AMD has access to TSMCs fabs? AMD doesn’t make their own chips, they fabbed by TSMC. Intel can and already is doing this.
Intel already has 4nm chips and are launching next month with new Meteor Lake laptops. Those new chips use chiplets and have some TSMC chips onboard. Intel now has the ability to pick and choose different nodes to meet the mission and makes them super flexible moving forward. What we saw with 10nm delays are looking to be very behind Intel moving forward. If they can into a bind they can choose to go with the TSMC design or whatever. They’ve already done this, changing from TSMC back to Intel design.
Yes it works on Asus Z690 as well. They’ve published a driver for your particular board, but I personally recommend the above Asrock driver I listed as it installs easier. They all use a generic Intel driver, and packaged up for themselves. So the driver can be cross installed on different brands.

Asus Z690 Apex driver
Make sure you’re on the latest Apex BIOS and ensure you’ve enabled Intel Dynamic Tuning Technology under “Thermal Management” in the BIOS.
Go get the Asrock Driver. It’s all a generic driver package. I am using the Asrock driver package on my Asus board and EVGA Z690 baord. I managed to edit the BIOS on the EVGA Dark to enable Intel DTT and therefore installed APO.

This driver is an easy just click install driver.
I kinda disagree with his assessment that 30-40fps in this style of game isn’t playable. I find it completely playable in this game.
Also use of DLSS at 1080p balanced or performance setting to get near 60fps wouldn’t be that terrible vs not be able to play IMO. DLSS even at 1080p doesn’t look anywhere near as bad as FSR2.
Works on 14700K.
Arrow Lake is next for desktop, probably same Oct launch window in 2024.
