If your current CPU is too weak for what you’re trying to achieve and you have the money, then go for it!
I am in the same boat, but I have convinced myself that I don’t really need a 13th/14th gen because my OC’d 7700k is still enough for me. And upgrading would cost me around 550€, which is a lot for me
